Wooden Finials

Finials are one of the earliest forms of Architectural Ornamentation. Originally, finials were made of stone in Greece. Since then, wooden finials have been used throughout history to add detailing to gates, fences, balustrades, posts and arbors. For the landscape architect or professional fence contractor, use of the appropriate decorative finial can add style, value, and repeat business to any project. Post Cap Source offers our own custom designed wooden finials, which we developed in an effort to give you wider selection of sizes and shapes. We also carry finials from two strategic alliances to offer you, our customer, the widest selection of finials in North America. Our finials are made of laminated kiln-dried redwood or red cedar. A dowel screw is included with each finial to assist in installation. As with any laminated wood product, proper finishing is recommended before installation. All surfaces, especially the underside should be coated with oil-base primer and paint or an oil-base stain and preservative.
