Our slip over post caps adorn not only the finest homes, but many elaborate estates around the country. There are two kinds of slip over post caps we have available:

Post caps suitable for Finials - These post caps feature a flat surface on top that will support attachment of a finial.
Post caps not suitable for Finials - These feature typically a pyramid shaped top. They are not designed for finial placement.

Construction
Slip Over caps are crafted utilizing five-piece construction, using V-nails in each corner of the molding. Twelve or more galvanized staples are used to permanently fasten the molding to the underside of our post cap.

Materials
All of our post caps are made from one ingredient - clear, all heart, vertical grain, kiln-dried redwood - known throughout the industry for its durability and beauty.

Installation
For a nail-free look, simply apply an exterior marine adhesive (we recommend 3M 5200) to the top of the post, slip the post cap over, and walk away! (Stainless steel finish nails may be used as an alternative, but are not necessary.)
