The solar post caps come with two (2) Ni-Cad rechargeable batteries that we include free of charge. The batteries will last about 1 to 2 years and can easily be replaced! The wooden solar post caps are made to fit a standard 4" x 4" wooden posts (LZCW45) you can buy at Home Depot or Lowe's (true 4" x 4" wooden post are 3 ½” x 3 ½”) OR a custom wooden post that has a true 4" x 4" dimension - either way, our wooden solar post cap will work based on the installation design. We also carry vinyl solar post caps in square sizes of 3 ½”, 4”, and 5” - all three designs are for 3 ½”, 4”, and 5” standard vinyl posts and can be used on new construction or to retrofit existing vinyl posts and fences. All three vinyl solar post cap are a "slip-over" design - they snap on or you can use an outdoor adhesive and slide them on.

Our solar post caps gather the sun's energy during the day and store it in batteries to be converted into light at night. The built in solar panel does the work and converts it to free energy at night.
